looking back on the summer
Our May exhibition was at Trelissick. Everyone was happy with the setting, the footfall and the sales. We are looking forward to the next one. The old stables, tack room and corridor, with their antiquated wooden partitions, stone floors and hayracks were an excellent foil for our eclectic mix of topics, media and styles.
From watercolour seascapes to acrylic dreamscapes, realistic flowers to abstractions, delicate animal sketches to human (and dog) portraits, we have a picture for all seasons.
The only limit was size - obviously we cannot hang anything too huge. There was plenty of opportunity to display unframed pictures in our browsers. (Sadly, this time, we could not do cards.)
When people come to our exhibitions they may be looking for something suble or something brash, or anything in between. We hope they will find what they are looking for. We certainly enjoy painting it.
It seems that we have already had a considerable, well-illustrated, presence on FaceBook (created by member John Pedler in 2013).

If you look through this and our previous blog pages you can see the wide range of art activities enjoyed by our members. We have always tried to have a balance between illustrated talks, demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions, for both experienced artists and for those who are beginners or just interested.

More recently I wrote about our enjoyable July meeting, painting oranges with Judi Trevorrow, on my Cornish language blog:
